Move-Out Information

We're sorry to see you go. Here's what you need to know for a smooth move-out.

Notice Requirements

Please provide written notice of your intent to vacate according to the terms in your lease agreement. Typically, this is:

60 days written notice before your intended move-out date.

Submit your notice through your tenant portal or contact your property manager directly. Early termination may be subject to fees as outlined in your lease.

Move-Out Day

  • Vacate by 11:00 AM on the last day of your lease to allow time for inspection and turnover.
  • Return all keys including mailbox keys, garage remotes, and any access cards to your property manager.
  • Cancel utilities in your name as of your move-out date.
  • Provide forwarding address for your security deposit return and any final correspondence.

Cleaning Requirements

To receive your full security deposit back, please ensure the unit is left in the same condition as when you moved in (minus normal wear and tear):

Kitchen

  • • Clean inside/outside of all appliances
  • • Wipe down cabinets and drawers
  • • Clean countertops and backsplash
  • • Empty and clean refrigerator
  • • Clean oven, stovetop, and hood

Bathrooms

  • • Scrub toilet, tub, and shower
  • • Clean mirrors and fixtures
  • • Wipe down cabinets and counters
  • • Clean exhaust fan

Throughout

  • • Sweep and mop all floors
  • • Vacuum all carpets
  • • Dust all surfaces and ledges
  • • Clean windows and blinds
  • • Wipe down baseboards

Other

  • • Clean ceiling fans and light fixtures
  • • Remove all personal belongings
  • • Remove all trash and debris
  • • Clean garage floor
  • • Repair any nail holes in walls

Tip: Take photos after cleaning as documentation. This protects you if there are any questions about the unit's condition.

Security Deposit Return

  • 1 Your security deposit will be returned within 21 days of your lease end date, as required by Wisconsin law.
  • 2 Deductions may be made for unpaid rent, damages beyond normal wear and tear, or cleaning if the unit was not left in acceptable condition.
  • 3 You will receive an itemized statement with any deductions.
  • 4 One check will be issued per lease, made payable to all tenants listed.
